Well, another semester has come to a close. And it was a great one! Which is good, too, because not only was it my last semester of the year, but it was my last semester FOREVER! Yessir, kiddies, I’m a college graduate! Which is both good and bad: Good, because I need a break from school; Bad, because there’s still much I have to learn and now without financial aid. Regardless, I’ve been told that now is when the real learning begins. So, what’s my next move? To find a career and not just a job; to avoid the art graduate pit of working at Walmart and to see my skills come to fruition! Yep, it’s onward and upward to see what MY future city will look like. ‘Til then . . .

In the Box – Flour Sack Animation

Flour sack is struttin’ along, when he stumbles upon some kind of crumpled up cloth, like . . . flour sack skin! He steps over and shuffles backward into a strange box. Examining the box, he picks it up and starts to crank the lever on the side. Suddenly, whammo! Some crazy freakshow flour sack from the brain of Steven King pops out and it’s all over for this poor, lost soul. He’s just another “splatter” on the sidewalk of life. Hope you enjoy ; ).

Cubist Speed Sketch

For a class assignment in Art/Propaganda, we were asked to take an item from our apartments and create a cubist artpiece from it, with emphasis on different viewpoints, geometric shapes, etc. I chose to do my M-Audio keyboard. This was a speed sketch done in pen and completed in 20 minutes. I liked the direction so much that I may be turning it into a bonafide painting . . . we'll see.

I am currently taking an independent study in animation. This is one of the fruits of that labor! The assignment: come up with a ball who enters the frame in one emotion and exits in another . . . he didn't quite make it to the exit.

Illustration Friday: Artificial

This was an exercise in making a "vector-looking" illustration completely in Blender—a 3D program. I learned TONS during the process. All elements of this image were created in Blender, including the background. I hope that the image makes sense. Some items were later edited out, because they made the image too cluttered. Anyways, enjoy, and feel free to comment . . . Feedback is awesome!
